As of 2/27/2012 each 4G LTE phone was compared by Battery Life, Size, Weight, Processor Speed, Camera & Video, Memory and Platform. Each phone was given a score for each of the seven categories listed above. Since the Size and Weight of phones do not matter as much to most people as do Battery Life and Memory, the Size and Weight score were given slightly less value than the other categories. By averaging together all seven scores for each phone a ranking was able to be attributed and listed from best to worst overall LTE Phone. Look below for the results.
Best Phones: The best overall 4G LTE compatible phone came out to be the Droid RAZR MAXX. Overall it had the best Battery Life of any other LTE phone, 8MP Camera with 1080 HD Recording, 32GB of memory upon purchase and Android 2.3.5. The only category it did not rank so well in was Processor Speed, but even so it had an average speed of 1.2 GHz. The second and third best overall LTE phones were the Droid RAZR and the Galaxy Nexus respectively.
Worst Phones: Starting with the overall worst LTE phone, the Samsung Craft ranked poorly in most of the seven categories listed above. The Craft had the lowest internal memory of any other LTE phone (.16 GB), poor battery life (200 Hrs Standby, 6 Hrs Talk Time) and only a 3 MP camera with 640 x 480 VGA. The second and third worst overall LTE phones were the LG Esteem and the Samsung Galaxy Attain respectively.
These Best/Worst Rankings are based solely on these seven categories. The best phone for one person may not be the best fit for someone else who has different likes/preferences. For example, Person A may not care about the Camera or Video Quality on a phone, while Person B may see Camera and Video Quality as one of the most important factors in purchasing a phone.
